Hostel
One of our moving image inspirations was the film Hostel, Hostel is a 2005 American horror film written and directed by Eli Roth.
It is the first instalment of the Hostel trilogy, followed by Hostel: Part II (2007) and Hostel: Part III (2011). The film tells the story of two college students traveling across Europe, who find themselves preyed upon by a mysterious group that tortures and kills kidnapped victims.
We used the torture scenes in Hostel as inspiration as you can clearly see in our opening title sequence as we used a similar set up using the wheelchair as the torture chair and we also used similar tools and costumes such as the doctors mask and shirts.

The Human centipede |
Another film we used for inspiration is the Human centipede, our main reason for using the film as inspiration was the mad scientist as the OTS contains two mad scientist related characters, the woman at the start who injects the victim and then the main villain who does all the torturing and his costume has some mad scientist features such as the long white apron. The human centipede is a film where a mad scientist kidnaps lots of people and tortures them while trying to create a human centipede. |
