DOS AND DON'TS
Dos
Always make a storyboard - this makes your film a lot easier to film as you will have a step by step guide on what to film
Always bring a tripod - using a tripod allows the camera shot to precise and not shaky
Casting - you have to have the right people to create the right atmosphere
Props - your props must be relevant to the scene. for example you cant have a banana as a knife.
Costumes - the costumes must be relevant in order to create the right character
Consider your location - you must have the right location to create the right effect. For example, if you wanted to create a spooky atmosphere you have to film it in an isolated area like a haunted house
Plan your time wisely - so every shot can get filmed and nothing is rushed so the quality is high and not poor quality and obvious that the shot was rushed.
Always do a risk assessment - this is just incase anything goes wrong
Be clear on your genre - otherwise you could go off on a tangent and miss the point.
Use a variety of angles/shots - this will engage the audience and make it much more interesting to watch
Don'ts
delete clips - you never know what you might need to use a later date
zoom in - this will distort the picture and make the scene look unprofessional
film a drama - these are hard to film and may not look good enough
have long period shots - the scene can become boring for the audience to watch
